25 Weeks

Up almost 20 pounds and getting the "you are positive it isn't twins?" and "you look like you are going to have the baby now!" comments. Comes with the territory. No one wants to believe that I still have to get MASSIVE because baby girl needs to grow for 15 more weeks and be as big as her big sister.

Asked Olivia what we should name baby sister, and she said "Nemo." Which is funny because she's never seen Nemo, doesn't own anything Nemo, and I didn't know she had any clue what it was. Maybe its a legit suggestion? Best we've got so far.

24 Weeks

If only I could rock this outfit every day. #socomfortable #teamleggingsarepants

Am I close to being finished? Is it February? Surely, I'm almost done right?

23 Weeks

Mom walks in the door. "Wow you look pregnant." Thanks mom.

But really. She came in town for the weekend, took Olivia to daycare, cleaned our downstairs, brought us dinner and homemade pesto, cleaned up the garden, bought me some maternity clothes, made a pillow for Olivia's big girl room, and Olivia cried huge crocodile tears when she left. So really, thanks mom!

I've gotten the closet in the guest room completely cleaned out. 13 trashbags later, this was a huge feat. (We don't store trash in the closet :) I just had to get rid of stuff to make room elsewhere in the house). Next stop, painting and we will finally make some headway in that room.

O: Nooooooo!

I love her.

Olivia's Big Girl Room

Even though I had this in mind for months now, the fact that Olivia will have a little sister has solidified my decision to paint her room pink. She'll eventually share the room with her sister - so pink it is! I didn't want to put too much money into this because 1) its for a 2 year old and 2) we will eventually put two small twin beds in here. But I love the black and white / Kate Spade look, but with blush walls.

Olivia's Big Girl Room

We have the white bedding and the dresser. I bought that curtain on clearance from Target. The pillows I can't find anywhere and think I will have to have them custom made. We have a small kids chair in that room already, and are thinking of slipcovering it (I found a place that can make a black one, but no patterns). Dan and I are still debating whether we should have a larger chair, or whether we even need a chair in her room.

I plan to frame pieces of her artwork above the bed to add some other color in the room. That room currently has two small bedside tables and a lamp. I'd like to keep as little furniture as possible, assuming she will get out of her bed and play all night long since this chicka sleeps about as well as her mama. But she might like having a lamp and water by her bed.

A few things are still up in the air, but putting my thoughts in polyvore really helped me visualize the room. Hoping to have it painted and set up shortly, and then start talking up how cool her big girl room is. Right now, she does not want to leave her crib. And I don't want her to either! She's trapped and not waking us up all night long. But we do have to make room for her sister, and I want her used to the new room so she isn't sad giving her old room and crib to the baby.

21 Weeks

Feeling great!

This belly is measuring two weeks ahead, and my doctor told me that, at up 15 pounds, I'm gaining too much weight. I'm not supposed stop gaining ..  but just gain slower.

I guess I need to slow down on the Halloween candy I bought. For the trick or treaters. Obviously.

Five on Friday

1. Dan is the BEST father and husband. He has put up with me being sick, and only able to eat ONE thing on the planet for dinner (which we could not predict) for the past 20 weeks. He gets Olivia up, feeds her breakfast, gets her dressed and takes her to school. He comes home, cleans up the kitchen after dinner, does Olivia's bath and plays Mr. Mom all day on Wednesdays - and never once complains! We could not love him more!

But all that is super boring. Yall really like to hear "Dan went to the grocery store" stories. So here's another:

K: Since you're going to the grocery, can you exchange those two cans of 'healthy' tomato soup for the regular kind for me?

D: You need me to do that tonight?

K: Yeah, they're for dinner tomorrow. Just go to the customer service counter when you get there, tell them what you are doing, drop off the old ones and go grab the regular kind. It's probably an even exchange. I don't care which brand you get, just make sure it doesn't say "healthy." I accidentally bought the fake kind.

D: Okay.

Leaves, comes back a few minutes later.

K: Did you have any trouble finding the regular soup?

D: What?? You wanted new soups? I thought you just wanted me to return the old ones.

2. Tuesday night Olivia woke up at 1 am crying. She rarely does that anymore, so I went to check on her. Changed her, rocked her, read her books, sang, etc. for 45 minutes and tried putting her back in her crib. She wouldn't have any of it. So I pulled her into our bed.

She never sleeps with us, and anytime I've tried to pull her into our bed she wants to play. "Hi mama. Hi dada. No nite nite." This time she just tried to lay there quietly. Took her almost an hour to fall asleep, but you could tell she didn't want to jeopardize her chance. Once she fell asleep, sweet thing kept cuddling up against me. Putting her arm around my neck. I stayed up most of the rest of the night just watching her. She's so precious when she sleeps and I never get to see that. I wanted to take a picture so bad - but it was way too dark in the room when I had to leave at 6 am. I just wanted to take that moment and put it in my pocket. She's growing up so quickly, and wont be little very long. I want to spend every minute I can with her.

3. When dad is in charge ..

4. Monkey. And the typical struggle while trying to get her in the car after school / playground.

5. One weekend back, we had friends in town. The kind of friends without kids. The kind of friends who still get to sleep in until 11:30am. We left, with Olivia still in her PJs, to entertain her. Ended up going to the pumpkin farm and picking out our pumpkin. Olivia went down the 15 foot (tall) slide with absolutely no fear, and had a blast playing on the tractor.

It would have been a perfect morning for fall photos. But. Pajamas.

Sausage Soup

I'm not a soup while pregnant person. I need more food than that. But this. This is like meaty veggie pasta held together with a little bit of liquid. It had rave reviews on this recipe facebook group and I knew we had to try. Now you need to as well. It makes about 8 bowls or so - so we froze a few for quick lunches.

Super easy. We had one pot, a knife and cutting board and a 1/2 cup measuring cup to wash afterward. From cutting to table it took 20 minutes.

I replaced the kale with spinach and topped it with lots of parmesan cheese.

You can find the recipe here with all the information and pictures. But I can't get her site to load well, so I took some screenshots.
