Five on Friday

Happy Friday! This Friday is closer to January being over - totally not our month. I have high hopes for February. Bring on the Superbowl, heart shaped things, and one more month before we can start thinking about warmer weather.

1. You know how, when you have a toddler, things can go from wonderful to disaster in .04 seconds and there's nothing you can do about it?

Like Sunday morning, when Olivia slept in until NINE and I thought it was going to be a great day and I woke up with pink eye?

Or Monday when Olivia took Dan's phone, put it to her ear and goes "blah. blah. blah." We laughed out loud. Instead of babbling like she normally does, it was almost as if she was making fun of us: "blah. blah. blah." She puts the other hand on her hip with attitude. Starts strutting across the kitchen. We are dying laughing. "Blah. Blah. Blah." Chucks Dan's phone in the dog's water bowl.

2. Speaking of the dog, Olivia always wants to walk Koda. The problem is she isn't the most reliable walker. She'll drop the leash at the hint of something shiny and Koda runs away at the hint of something moving. Dan came up with a great solution.

3. I keep catching her in the liquor cabinet. I thought I had at least 16 more years until this. She prefers the mini bottles.

4. Wednesdays I stay at work all day. They are hands down, my least favorite day. I miss Olivia so much and barely get to see her. At least, when I'm stuck in horrible traffic - I get to watch the sun set over the lake.

5. I can't even describe to you how much this little girl loves her daddy. You can just see it in her eyes!

  1. Adorable!! That blah blah blah story had me cracking up (minus the phone taking a swim in the dog's water bowl part,,,). I set up this cute bar cart for my husband and Olive is obsessed with it. She wants to rearrange everything and play with all the bottles. It's funny and a highly frowned upon play activity center. Whoops. I really love that heart hoodie and am impressed with the dual puppy leash idea your hubby came up with. #superdad

    1. Haha so funny! Why do they love stuff like that? Olivia has an acrylic wine glass that is her favorite.

    1. That would be so much fun! I went to the dollar store today and they had the most fun valentine's day stuff, all for a dollar. I was thinking that I wish we had a play group so I could get this stuff to do a vday craft one!! :)

They also had all these rose items. I thought it'd be perfect for a bachelor party. Not an actual bachelor party, that'd be odd, and odd that I'd be there, but a viewing of 'the bachelor' party!

  4. Toddlers do have a way of making things go from whooping fun to a disaster. Jack loves to play fight and it is all fun and giggles and then suddenly he'll bite the fire out of me. Fun over!

    1. So funny! I'm sure not for you. But I just imagine it like our life - everyone is cracking up and then all of a sudden. fun. over.

  6. Okay so the dog walking idea is GENIUS! I've had two babies that just had to walk the dog and our dog is a runner too. So glad by the time KC wants to walk the dog I'll have a solution!!! I hope the phone recovered and the pink eye is gone. Love your view of the lake - sorry Wednesdays are so hard!

    1. Pink eye is gone, thank goodness for Olivia's leftover eye drops. And his phone is water proof. Mine is too but Olivia chucked it down the driveway so the screen is cracked, rendering it no longer waterproof. :(
